I live on Long Island. J. P. Morgan Jr. lived on Long Island on East Island, Glen Cove. He called his estate Matinecock Point. Locals still refer to it as Morgan’s Island.
I love kayaking, crafting, gardening, researching everything (including how to unplug a sink full of water) reading a great book, watching great movies, sometimes cooking and writing. The writing is like going to the dentist – painful but after it is done (well) I feel so good about myself.
I did not go down the educational road well-travelled. I graduated high school and worked as a typist in the New York Headquarters of the FBI before women could serve as agents. I hated it! Then I drove a two-ton, double-clutch school bus in Brooklyn not far from where I grew up. I loved it!
I am a lawyer and a Professor at St. John’s University teaching legal research and writing to undergraduates. I am proud to have created an undergraduate journal, The Legal Apprentice for students to publish. I write legal articles which have been cover stories for the New York State Bar Association Journal and I have published a book on special education.
Before getting my law degree from St. John’s, I attended Brooklyn College where I graduated magna cum laude. My interest in forensic science was first peaked during my service as an Administrative Law Judge in New York’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct, the disciplinary body for medical doctors.
